Senegal , an erstwhile open and tolerant land to the gospel, is gradually closing up. There are signs everywhere of a rising opposition against the Church, maybe as a result of a growing indigenous Christian population in the land. On the 20th of November 2003 , our team in Dakar was summoned to the municipal police station to answer charges of 'noise pollution' by a local journalist living in the vicinity of where the church holds services. Our team leader is reporting the incident wrote, ".Compared to other churches in town, we do not make noise. The devil is looking for a way to intimidate us. Intolerance and violence towards Christians is growing in the country, which officially claims to be a model of tolerance and religious coexistence."
