The work among the Seres, Jolas and Wolofs is growing beyond its manpower. More local leaders are being raised. A convert from the Dakar church is doing church planting work in Thiaroye. Another has caught a vision for Kaolack. And Sadio S from the Thiaroye church is getting ready for missionary training in Cote d'Ivoire.
With 8 converts just baptized in Dakar church, it is hoped that the leadership of the church will soon be in the hands of indigenes. Presently, the children's ministry, the women's group and the youth ministry have been handed over to the local leadership.
More prayer is needed from the body of Christ for the missionaries to raise more local leaders so that, like Paul, they can pass on to other tribes and countries that are still without any Christian witness.
School of Ministries
It was noted that out of the 200 people who attend the Dakar Ecomin , only 10 to 20 are indigenes of Senegal . Steps are being taken to reverse this trend, and ensure that more Senegalese benefit from the program. Consequently, the next Ecomin will be held in the Dakar church where the Senegalese outnumber people of other nationalities. This same strategy applies to Casamance, a region that has more Senegalese than other nationalities. The idea is to use the School of Ministry to make spiritual investment in the lives of the people.
