“I'll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the
Lord had left him. In a football match there are two halves equally shared with an injury time
to cover some lost minutes. In matches where winners must emerge, when there are no winners
an extra time is added to the equal halves without an injury time given. In such matches
you work on winning from the start of the game and if you miss it you now re-strategize on how
to win in your second half when it is a must win game.
You have spent half of the year already or may be even the first half of your life and you
are now on injury time. You have been on a walk with God since you became born again,
have enjoyed every victory and have always been on the winning side or you have just been playing
and it is now the second half.
You may have been unbeaten like Samson, who tore a young lion apart, struck down thirty men,
and killed a thousand Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey and did several other things.
In all these great moments, you will always read that the Spirit of the Lord came upon him in
power (Judges 14.19; 15:14) and another time he was so thirsty that he cried unto the Lord and
water came from an unexpected place (Judges 15.18-19). Many other great things happened
in his life that will make you know he was a giant, winner, victor and an accomplisher.
In between these great deeds there were great efforts from the opponents not to make him succeed.
Unfortunately for Samson, Delilah succeeded in bringing him down. He thought he had found
a wife; not knowing Delilah would bring him down, hence ending his fleet of success stories.
One day Samson thought he could still perform like before but did not know that the One (God) who
gave him success (power) was no longer with him (has left him). We all know what became of
Samson.
Have you been a consistent winner, victor and an accomplisher in your walk with the Lord?
Are you giving in to a Delilah who may look like God's provision, but there to destroy you and your entire success story?
This is one journey or match that no one except the Referee (the Father) knows when it will end.
Since you do not know when the match or journey will end then utilize the time properly now as
you walk with God. In Judges 16: 28-30, Samson utilized an opportunity of an injury time and
got a good victory.
It is possible you are running around preaching and or doing wonderful things in His name not knowing
that He has departed and is no longer there with you. Remember, you do not know when this match
will end. Why not take stock and be sure He has not departed, be it your first half or second or
even an injury time. Has the Lord left you?
GENERAL: So many of us are living on injury time and doing many things in the name of
service to God, not knowing He has departed from us. Please pray for revival and
restoration of all we have lost in our walk with God and service to Him. Pray that
God will bring us to the winning sides again and deliver us from the Delilah that will
lead us to our destruction.
